Cut some bittersweet today
hung a small wreath on a
rusty pumpkin..
a birdhouse...
...and in the window box
outside my kitchen window.
It's exciting to see it full of birds scavenging
for food on the first snowfall of the year.
After the berries are eaten
the vines are good to leave in the
window box to keep the birds from building
nests in the Spring.
Then I stacked wood
getting ready for the week ahead.
It's been pleasant today
here in the Ozarks.
A roaring fire will feel good
on the cold nights ahead.
